Facilities

Ramgarh Engineering College  is an Institution under Public Private Partnership between the Government of Jharkhand and Techno India, Kolkata. The Engineering College is running Degree Engineering courses with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Communications and Computer Science & Engineering disciplines with approval from AICTE and JUT, Jharkhand. The College is on about 24 Acres of Land and having more than 3,00,000 Sq Ft built up space consisting of Academic Building, Workshop, Canteen, Boys and Girls Hostels and Staff Quarters etc.

  • For students, TEQIP III sponsored seminars and workshops are conducted in collaboration with several IITs, NITs and BVBCET, Hubli (Now KLETech Unuversity, our Mentor institute).
  • Free GATE class and Employability classes for all students (TEQIP III sponsored) were provided .
  • Sports facilities such as football ground, badminton court and volleyball ground and also practice pitches for cricket along with other outdoor games facilities.
  • Cafeteria for the students as well as the visitors.
  • Electrical substation building to cater to the power needs of the entire campus.
  • Water from underground water reservoirs and filtration plants will cater to the needs of the campus and also be utilized for fire fighting and irrigation systems. There are also sewerage and drainage systems along with rainwater harvesting system. 
  • The college accommodates lecture halls, research and training laboratories, library, administrative offices etc. The campus has vast expanse of green dotted with facilities for cultural, recreational and sports activities. Students are encouraged to pursue a wide range of extracurricular activities and hobbies in their free time and events both entertaining and competitive are arranged quite frequently. In addition, the Institute maintains Guest Houses for accommodating guests appropriately.
  • More than 40 no. of high tech laboratories Computer Lab, CNC Milling, CNC  Lathe, VLSI, Embedded System, Concrete Lab, Power System Lab, Electrical Machine lab, Language Lab, Digital Electronics, etc.
  • With high end computing nodes and other advanced laboratories, the computing centers provide enhanced facilities to the students. 
  • The Library provides students with access to a vast collection of books  and journals and digital learning services. The library also offers access to a range of exclusive e-books and e-journals, which can be accessed in the library through the Digital Knowledge Centre.
  • REC provides campus-wide, high-speed Wi-Fi services for students to stay connected to the Internet and be an active part of the digital age.

Hostel and Mess:

  • Separate hostel facilities are provided for Boys and Girls in the college campus. In order to guarantee the safety of students within the hostel premises, an anti-ragging cell has been established that caters to each and every related intricate issue.It has adequate high security and good discipline. Each hostel has an independent mess. 
  • Power Back up generator facility is available in the campus.
  • College appointed separate security agency for these purpose to provide the best for students.

Separate waterpurifires are installed in Girls and Boys Hostel, all academic buildings.

Medical care:

  • The college made MOU with the Matrika Sadan on 21.02.2020 for providing hospitalization and/or patent care.
  • Recently, two e-rickshaws are available in the college. It is also used to take the students to the nearest nursing home - Matrika Sadan Hospital.
  • First aid facility is provided to all the laboratories, and hostels (Warden).

Safety at the college campus:

To ensure safety of our staff and students we have adopted several measures given below-

1. CCTV camera, security guards and vehicle pass:

All the departments, class, blocks and other areas within the college is equipped with 24*7 hours working CCTV cameras. Besides these the college is under by experienced and capable security personnel round the clock. All the staffs, teachers & students are provided with the ID card of the college which ensures no entry without ID card. The college also provides vehicles pass for the students, staff members, and workers/ vendor vehicles to prevent entry of unauthorized vehicles in the campus.     

2.Safety in hostel:

24X7 Security guards are available in 1st year boys and all girls hostels. Hostels rules & regulations are strictly followed under the guidance of wardens.

3.Fire Safety:

We have provided fire safety equipments (Fire extinguishers) in labs and offices. Fire sand bucket are available in canteen and mess.

4.Laboratory safety: 

All laboratory safety facilities (like chemistry lab safety equipments, workshop safety equipments, electrical labs safety equipments etc) are available within the college campus to make students feel safe and secure with us. In case of emergency students can rush to security persons also who are available always in the college campus.

5. Lightning safety:

Government had provided us the buildings with lightning safety equipments.

6. Group health insurance facility for staff:

 Group health insurance facility is provided for each and every staff and their family members.

7. Accidental insurance facility for students:

Accidental insurance facility is provided for all students.

8. The occupational safety and health of cleaning workers/daily labours:

Safety gloves and safety masks are provided to daily labours those are hired for cleaning of campus, hostels etc.

Grass cutter with full safety system is provided to the cleaning staffs.

9. Food and safety:

Food Safety and Standards Act 2006 is strictly followed in canteen and mess.

No canteen and food vendors are allowed to run the canteen and mess without valid food license.

10. Plantation:

The College is doing regular plantation to make the college environment green. The officials are encouraged to plant house trees at their offices to purify the indoor air of their offices.

11. Extracurricular activities

Students are encouraged to actively participate in extracurricular activities (NSS) which helps them to remain rejuvenated as well as increase their fight back capacity.

12. Pest control:

Pest controls are done in regular interval.

13.Safety check:

The college is doing the electrical safety check on daily basis. The college appointed Electrician and plumbers. All electrical panel boards have perfect MCB/MCCB to prevent any kind of accident due to electrical fault.

The fire safety equipments are regularly checked to avoid any kind of accident.

Ramgarh Engineering College (REC) is committed to provide a suitable environment, academic ambience and harmonious work place to all its stakeholders. The Institution endeavours that the persons with disabilities enjoy the right to equality, life with dignity and respect for his or her integrity equally with others. The University has provisions in place to support the differently abled. The present document consolidates such provisions for the differently abled students.
The college ensures admission of as many differently-abled students as possible to BTech UG programs, through the reservation policy notified by the State Government of Jharkhand.
Access to buildings/Classrooms In continuation to the facilities provided for differently abled students, the college has incorporated some desired features in its buildings also as given below.
 
Tactile Pathway: Tactile Pathways are constructed in campus for navigation purposes. The purpose of the guidance path surface is to guide differently abled people.
 
Ramps: Ramps are constructed at entry of buildings. The level difference between inside and outside the building is covered with ramp which enables a wheelchair user to enter in the building.
 
Entrance: Entrance to every Block of the College is wide enough for a wheelchair to go in.
 
Library: Library offer various services to the differently abled persons and encourage them to make effective use of library services. General services for all kind of disabled persons. Separate seating arrangement has been done for comfortable reading.
Books can be issued by any authorized person on behalf of differently abled persons.
Free and Open source screen reading software NVDA 2020 for visually impaired students. Examinations Classes at ground floor for differently abled students: Special Classroom for differently abled students are arranged at ground floor in academic blocks as far as possible.
 
Exams at ground floor: During examination, special room at ground floor for conduct of examinations of disabled students is arranged. Scribes: As per UGC rules, there is provision of scribes during examinations. University Examination ordinance is available on University website (http://jutranchi.ac.in/).
 
Washrooms: An Indian style commode can pose difficulties for individuals who have difficulty in squatting. Hence, a Western style commode option is also available at every floor in every block. Special mobile foldable commode is also available for differently abled persons.
 
Signage information: Signage (any information provided in and outside the building) is clearly displayed, have distinct contrast and illumination, so that it can be easily read by persons with low vision.
 
Pathways: The pathways in the campus are non-slippery. One easy way of ensuring this is to drill grooves in the floor.

Common Room: Girls common room for physically disabled girl students is provided in respective hostels.
